Violence Associated with Anger and lmpulsivity

According to the Uniform Crime Repo, violent crime in the United States rose by 81% in the two decades between 1973 and 1992, and the largest increase was in aggravated assault (Stanton, Baldwin, & Rachael, 1997). In view of the pervasiveness of violence and the tragic consequences it has on individuals and society, it is important to understand the factors that initiate and maintain the propensity to behave violently. In this context, anger and impulsivity become pivotal issues in the study of violence.
